Zenkai Judo Club Achieves Charitable Status

Zenkai Judo Club has recently been granted charitable status by the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR), marking an important milestone in the club’s development.

The decision formally recognises the club’s work in advancing public participation in judo and reflects its commitment to operating in a way that is inclusive, transparent, and focused on community benefit.

Becoming a registered charity provides the club with a stronger governance framework and greater long-term stability. It also allows Zenkai Judo Club to access a wider range of funding opportunities, helping to keep judo affordable and accessible for members.

The club will continue to be run by volunteers, with all income reinvested back into coaching, facilities, equipment, and community activity. Day-to-day training and sessions will continue as normal.

Achieving charitable status supports the club’s future development and strengthens its ability to serve the community in Cumbernauld, Govan, and beyond.
