About Zenkai
Judo Club
Zenkai Judo Club is a non-profit, community-run judo club dedicated to advancing public participation in sport and strengthening communities through judo. Led by experienced and qualified volunteer coaches, the club exists to make judo accessible, inclusive, and welcoming for people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds.
Based in Cumbernauld and Govan, Zenkai JC delivers high-quality judo coaching for children, young people, and adults, providing safe, supportive environments where members can develop physically, mentally, and socially. Whether someone is stepping onto the mat for the first time or continuing their judo journey, our sessions are designed to be enjoyable, structured, and progressive.

History of Zenkai
Zenkai Judo Club was formed with a clear purpose: to create a positive, inclusive, and high-quality judo environment where people of all ages and abilities can grow, both on and off the mat.
Zenkai represents a new chapter built on strong foundations. The club brings together the history and community of Tryst Judo Club with Southside Judo Club in Govan, united by shared values and a commitment to keeping judo accessible.
When Southside Judo Club faced the difficult prospect of closing its doors (2025), Tryst Judo Club stepped in, in true judo spirit, to propose coming together as one club. This partnership ensured that members could continue training, friendships were preserved, and judo remained active within the local community.
The name Zenkai reflects our philosophy of continuous improvement, renewal, and growth, encouraging every member to progress at their own pace while respecting judo’s traditions.
